Description: Intense colour in the glass. Fresh black fruit on the nose: blackberries that fuse together on a backdrop of shrubs, aromatic herbs, palulu and light notes of cocoa. In the mouth, it is big but smooth, with a fully developed, well-rounded tanning. Velvety with a long, persistent finish.
The 2012 Vintage: The scarcity of rain during the winter promised a rare and complicated start of the cycle, with less than 40% of water reserves in the soils, even lower than the dry 2005 vintage. But… spring arrived quite rainy, which is very unusual, and the 120 liters measured together with the high temperatures in May lead into a wild and blast bud-break. A hot summer followed with very low rainfall. The limited water reserves in the soils were quickly wasted then by the vines, and consequently a precise irrigation management was put into practice. These extreme conditions marked the characteristics of the vintage. Harvest of the white varieties began in September 18th. The white wines this vintage showed a clean complex aroma, an excellent acidity and moderate alcohol contents. The reds have an alcohol volume of around 14%, good structure and intense colour. This will help towards making wines for laying down. Every variety performed well, even the Merlot.
